Special Focus Issue: Design for Sustainability

This Special Focus Issue takes a look at how design technology is enabling the shift toward sustainability.

The shift toward more sustainable design and manufacturing has continued as regulatory pressures mount and companies search for ways to reduce their carbon footprints. In addition, consumers continue to ask for more sustainable products with less wasteful packaging.

While not everyone agrees on the severity of climate change, there is more widespread recognition that we need to find more efficient ways to generate power. Even though we have created more efficient vehicles and appliances, the sheer number of stresses on the grid demands that we seek more affordable and sustainable sources.

This Special Focus Issue of Digital Engineering takes a look at how design technology is enabling this shift toward sustainability. Coverage includes a look at next-gen power grids, new ways to leverage digital twins, smart cities, sustainable ecosystems, and emerging carbon removal/sequestration markets (and their design requirements).

Inside this issue…

  • Digitally Designing the Factory of the Future
  • Powering Up Next-Gen Power Grids
  • AM Gets Sustainability Stamp of Approval
